Birthday Cake!

This weekend was my 33rd birthday. Aaron knows the way to my heart: flowers and frosting!

Even better is a flower MADE of frosting!

Even better than that- 4 INCHES of frosting!!!

This was our pre-celebration cake. He actually brought enough for 8 for our dinner celebration. Okay, it was enough for 20 but 8 will eat them!

This Weekend I love....

The sound of: Gus' squeals from his "nap"

The taste of: Ferrero Rochers that Grandma Katy brought with her from Missouri

The sight of: the Grand Canyon (Imax movie -Gus snoozed the whole time!)

The smell of: the last of my Casablanca lillies

The feel of: charcoal gray yarn in my hands as Grandma Katy taught me to crochet

The thought of: more warm evenings for watching movies on the patio. Not long!

Happy Boy

As you can see, Gus was very happy to see his Grandma Katy last weekend. We had a very nice weekend of movies, long walks with the dogs, a crocheting lesson, backgammon, and plenty of play time. Gus was very happy to have one more person in the house who adores him.

I've got that spring green fever again. Getting geared up for full on horticulture adventure. New tropicals to try.. strange flowers becoming sumptuous fruits. Hardy pink flowered bananas, fantastic figs, and pretty pomegranates.
