Puff Daddy

Gus is starting to graduate from mere vegetable purees to foods he can grab and feed himself.

With seven teeth you can imagine how he crunches his little "puffs". He loves to pinch them with his fingers and shove them in his mouth. Bring on the beef jerky!

This Weekend I Loved.....

The sight of: a good hard rain, magnolia and redbud blossoms, friends coming for dinner.

The smell of: sesame pita bread toasting for our breakfast PB&J's

The sound of: Aaron's Genius playlists he's creating. This weekend was a flashback to some old country.

The taste of: Farmer's Market biscuits! They're open again!

The thought of: A State Farmer's Market Extension in North Raleigh! We hear its likely! First Mellow Mushroom, now this! Also, an Austin trip to see our friends, celebrate Easter, birthdays and anniversaries all at once!

Rainy Days

This was a very rainy weekend for us. The kind that lasts all day and makes you cold to your bones. We mostly played on the computer, read books and magazines, and watched Australia as well as some classic Sherlock Holmes episodes. We also had our Uncles Richard and Dwayne over for dinner. Here is Gus, fresh from his bath snuggled up in Dwayne's arms. Note the spiderman romper from my friend Stephanie.

Rhyme Time

This weekend we met Jeff, Julie and Harrison at the library for Rhyme Time - a get together with songs, puppets, dancing, and lots and lots of enthusiastic toddlers. It was Gus' first time.

He was sleepy and wasn't quite sure what to make of it, although he did enjoy the bubbles.
Meanwhile Harrison had a BLAST and participated whole-heartedly. He'll have to show Gus how to clap and sing at the top of his lungs.

Birthday Cake!

This weekend was my 33rd birthday. Aaron knows the way to my heart: flowers and frosting!

Even better is a flower MADE of frosting!

Even better than that- 4 INCHES of frosting!!!
This was our pre-celebration cake. He actually brought enough for 8 for our dinner celebration. Okay, it was enough for 20 but 8 will eat them!
