Six Months

We cannot believe our Gus is already 6 months old. We visited his pediatrician for his 6 month check in and got a clean bill of health and of course the usual comments about his robust size: Length 27 3/4 inches (75th percentile), weight 20 lbs, 10 oz (95th percentile), head circumference - off the charts.

Milestone wise: he is totally into his toys, sits up well with assistance and is rolling over from his back to his stomach reliably and eating his solids like a champ.

We've heard it said that the best baby stage is the one you're currently in but I just can't imagine him being sweeter or more fun than he is right this second. He smiles constantly, giggles from his belly for no reason at all, and squeals and goos to amuse himself. He's also a big snuggler and doesn't meet a stranger. We love you, buddy! Happy 1/2 birthday!

Changing Subjects: Virtual Vacation

With the depressing economy taking lots of trips has take a backseat for a while. Doesn't mean one can't dream about the future. How about a virtual vacation this weekend? Maybe a drive in this....
to this...

Ahhh. Just like being there, right? Happy weekend.

Sweet Peas.. Please

Gus is moving right along with eating "solids". We have done cereal, sweet potatoes and peas. So far, there isn't a food this boy objects to!

Is it time to trust him to a sweeter food like pears? Hmmm, maybe carrots first!

Splish Splash.. Gus Takes a Bath

Short clip of our new bath routine. Gus is getting so big and splashing so much it is just easier and less messy for Aaron to bathe with him (no, those are not my hairy legs). Aaron figured this out when he was watching him all day in Florida. He quickly puts him in a towel-covered bouncy seat outside the bathtub when done and Gus can sit covered in towels while Daddy takes his bath. He loved his duck (Thanks Aime and Lisa!).

Father and Son

Today is a special day. Gus can wear the onesie that I gave Aaron when I realized I was pregnant. The back is a replica of Aaron's own favorite tee-shirt from the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

The front says "seedling". He is a hearty, fast growing perennial I would say.

Snow Season

Its been a long time coming.....a snow day!! We have been talking about how nice it would be to have one for years.

So imagine our delight to wake up to a bonafide snow, not a Southern version of one, but actual puffs of white everywhere and huge blowing flakes coming all day long.
Gus got his first taste of snow literally as Aaron fed him miniature snow balls. He loved it. So much fun to stay inside snuggled up with our bear cub on a snow-covered Tuesday.

Much Meredith

Winter has found me busy playing with my pictures on picasa.. planning many new plantings and gathering groups of pictures from this past year. Good fun while waiting for winters weather to wander away. (CLICK ON PICTURES TO VIEW UP CLOSE)

Cool New Clothes

This kid is growing FAST! He is now getting very tall in addition to just big. Luckily I found the best clearance at a favorite baby clothing site. Everyone knows how hard it is to find cool baby boy clothes but this place gets it right. If interested go to http://www.teacollection.com/ . WARNING: the clothes are waaayyy too expensive when not on sale but the things we were able to find were on super clearance and very cute and modern. Plenty of sizes left, too! Doesn't he look cute? Don't we all wish we could find pinstriped sweatpants to bridge the gap between work and play?

One For the Road

Road Trip! Aaron and Gus are accompanying me to my national meeting in Orlando! Yea! I don't have to leave my boys! Another great thing is that we were able to swing a visit to Ocala to see my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew Jake. So fun for Gus to meet his family. This picture was taken in a Days Inn along the way.
