Fourth of July

We finally convinced mom and dad to play hooky and come visit us from Kentucky! They have been very busy with the house and barn renovations and with the horses, of course but we were able to get them to take a much needed break. We cooked, watched movies, sipped Aaron's famous margaritas, ate at the Farmer's Market (dad's favorite) and shopped (mom's favorite).
Like every 4th of July, it was a HOT one but I think they were able to relax a little bit as well!

Dad enjoyed Aaron's hammock in a big way. He and Izzy (see bottom corner) snuggled in it and took mid-morning catnaps. Fitzi, who looks huge for some reason in this picture (the camera adds 10 pounds to everyone I guess) wanted to participate, too. The dogs love having their grandparents in town.

We had a great time riding around in Aaron's jeep. This was the 4th attempt at a picture where everyone wasn't laughing too hard to take it. Mom tried to salvage her hair with Aaron's hat. I have pretty much given up so I usually look like Diana Ross when I get out. Still worth it.

Sorry for the dark pic. We went to the movies at Regency Park Ampitheater and saw Hitchcock's "The Birds". It's a fun movie to see outside although when you haven't seen it in 20-30 years or so like mom and dad you realize how it is almost funnier than it is scary in 2007. On the way out there was a loud bird sounding off in the forest and a couple of funny teens were running through the crowd screaming "COVER YOUR EYES!!!". Come back soon, guys!

We still have Izzy (she is in the bottom corner of the pic of dad in hammock. She is hard to catch these days for pics - always hiding in A's jungle in the pack which she LOVES!
Poor Murphy. We had to put him to sleep last year because he had gotten very sick w/ PKD (kidney dz very common in Persians - what my Chester had). It was very sad. But we know he is sitting on a beautiful window sill in the sky!
